There is nothing quite like a picture that can instantly take you back to a time, place, and emotion. Life goes by fast, but photographs truly last forever. As a child, I would lose myself looking at my Mom's photo albums. As a teenager, I was constantly taking pictures with my disposable camera to create more photo albums and scrapbooks. Now, as a wife and mother, I almost always have my camera within arm's reach.
Ten years ago, my Mom passed away. It was then that photographs became so much more than just an image on a piece of paper. I found myself relying on pictures to help me grieve, show my children their beautiful grandmother, and remember happier times with her. It was at that point that I knew I had to do something with my passion for photography. With the love and support of my immediate family, a determined soul, and a little extra support from my late grandmother, Amy Lou Photography was created just a few years later.
"Amy Lou" is short for Amy Louise - my first and middle name. Family and friends called me "Amy Lou" in my earlier years, and some still do today. You'll notice that my logo is created from my mom's handwriting, found on an old card she addressed to me.
My goal is to capture the moment that my clients are in - the beauty and emotion of it all. I will strive to present beautiful images that you will want to hang on your walls and share with others. Every time you walk by the photos, I hope that you will be taken back to a special time. A time when you were graduating from high school, about to marry your soul mate, or enjoying special moments with your family. A time when you were pregnant, holding your newborn in your arms, chasing your toddler around or even posing for the perfect Christmas card. We go through so many incredible and exciting moments; let's capture them together so that you can cherish them forever.
I am a born and raised Texan. I grew up in Allen and currently live in Frisco with my husband and our three children. They keep me on my toes and provide plenty of smiles, laughter and photo opportunities. In addition to family and photography, some of my other loves are cooking, running, reading, refinishing old furniture, decorating, and traveling.
I hope that you enjoy what you see of my work here and want to thank you in advance for continuing to make this dream of mine a reality.
